Saving Time and Money by Harnessing the Power of Process Automation

For some, the idea of automation conjures visions of a dystopian future with a world ruled by machines; one where robots render human labor obsolete. However, that’s not the reality. Process automation is a useful tool that helps eliminate time-consuming manual tasks and frees employees up to focus on the innovative work that really matters.

Many of the world’s leading companies have relied on various forms of process automation for years – from managed mobility services to telecommunications expense management and everything in between – to streamline enterprise operations and reduce costs. In fact, Tangoe recently launched a survey in partnership with ZK Research that explored the most daunting IT challenges in 2022 and how businesses are turning to robotic process automation (RPA) to overcome them, improve worker satisfaction and grow their bottom line.

What is RPA, you ask? CIO.com defines RPA as an application of technology aimed at automating business processes. Simply put, a company can configure software (also known as a “robot” or “bot”) to capture and interpret applications for processing a transaction, manipulating data, triggering responses, and communicating with other digital systems.

For many years, this level of process automation was only achievable by large Fortune 500 companies, but that’s changing. Much like Tangoe’s findings, VentureBeat recently reported on a similar survey, which found that 67% of respondents have invested in robotic process automation (RPA) within the past year, while 81% plan to within the next year. These findings, coupled, clearly point to RPA’s increasing popularity across industries, particularly as companies seek creative, cost-saving ways of achieving growth and success. Today, fueled by hybrid work, the need to drive efficiencies, and requirements to implement security protocols, mid-enterprise companies require the same.

To date, more than $15 billion in expenses are managed using the Tangoe One platform, which currently processes upward of 370,000 invoices monthly and manages more than 14 million devices globally. This is all made possible because of the 300 unique bots behind the scenes in our Tangoe One platform. Prior to the development of these process automations, each of these invoices and devices would have had to be managed by a person. Now, imagine the time and money that process automation platforms, like Tangoe One, could save your business. Some have reported savings of up to 30% annually
