Tangoe Achieves ISO 27001 Security Certification

Internationally recognized security standard demonstrates compliance with more than 100 information security controls

PARSIPPANY, N.J., July 28, 2020 – Tangoe®, the global market leader in enterprise technology expense management and managed mobility services, today announced it has successfully completed certification to the ISO 27001 standard, demonstrating Tangoe has invested in the people, processes and technology to protect the organization’s data, as assessed by an independent, objective, third-party expert.

ISO 27001:2013 is an international standard for Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements that demonstrates compliance with more than 100 information security controls. The certification verifies that Tangoe’s IT security posture meets or exceeds international best practices and standards for protecting confidential information like customer data, mitigating and responding to cyber threats and managing risk, among other measures.

“Tangoe manages more than $40 billion in spend and more than 10 million devices for our Fortune 500 customers. We have a responsibility to protect their private information with the highest security standards that allows for secure exchange of information – a responsibility we take very seriously,” said Mark Troller, Tangoe CIO. “As a world-class technology organization, safeguarding customer data is our utmost priority, which is why the team has worked hard to achieve this IT security certification from an objective third party.”

According to the International Standards Organization (ISO), achieving ISO 27001 certification involves:

  • Assessing potential risks and identifying vulnerable areas;
  • Implementing an enterprise-wide management system that controls how and where information is stored and used;
  • Maintaining a process to manage current and future information security policy;
  • Making employees and third-party contractors aware of the security risks and having a process for incident reporting;
  • Monitoring system activity and logging user activities;
  • Keeping IT systems up to date with the latest protection;
  • Controlling that only authorized users have access to IT systems.

Tangoe protects its systems with a comprehensive assortment of security and privacy best practices, including documented and audited processes and a business continuity plan to ensure secure, uninterrupted services. Tangoe’s security implementations span across the physical and digital spectrum to include:
