As CTO, Shapiro leads Tangoe’s technology and R&D organization including a team of software developers . He also oversees Tangoe’s patent program of 65 granted patents with 20 more in progress.

Prior to joining Tangoe, Shapiro served as the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at Pitney Bowes, responsible for the Enterprise Software product portfolio guiding over 600 technical resources spanning the globe with teams in India, UK, Poland, and the U.S. Before that, he spent 18 years at CA Technologies, where he held a series of progressively strategic positions culminating as leader of a global software engineering organization of 500+ software development professionals. He was also a member of CA Technologies Council for Technical Excellence, an architectural think-tank comprised of technical thought leaders within the company and awarded the title of Distinguished Engineer. 

Shapiro holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science from Touro College in New York City, New York, where he graduated summa cum laude.
