Tangoe Mobile Device Management Supports iOS 6 Devices

Release date: 9/13/2012

Enables IT Departments to Securely Deploy and Manage
iOS 6 Mobile Devices Including the iPhone 5

Orange, Conn. — September 13, 2012 — Tangoe, Inc. (NASDAQ: TNGO), a leading global provider of Communications Lifecycle Management (CLM) software and related services, today announced management support for Apple’s iOS 6 devices in time for the arrival of iPhone 5. The latest enhancements to Tangoe’s multi-OS Mobile Device Management (MDM) software enables businesses to easily and securely activate, deploy, and manage iOS 6 devices and applications.

“The highly anticipated release of the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 will significantly increase requests to support Apple devices company-wide, allowing employees to access corporate data and e-mail on their newly purchased personal devices,” said Wayne DeCesaris, senior vice president of Managed Solutions, Tangoe. “Tangoe MDM simplifies an increasingly complex multi-platform mobile environment and delivers the security, control and cost efficiencies necessary for organizations to remain ahead of the constant flow of new devices and operating systems entering their organizations.”

To alleviate concerns associated with the rapid adoption of consumer-owned mobile devices within the enterprise, new enhancements to Tangoe MDM enable enterprises to seamlessly manage iOS 6 devices, application deployments, and device usage. The iOS 6 Mobile Device Upgrade Support allows businesses to manage iOS devices that upgrade to iOS 6 as well as provision iPhone 5 devices, including complete support for the iPhone Configuration Utility for security, usage, and application policies.

Tangoe has also improved iOS Mobile Application Management. Tangoe MDM updates all application lists across the entire iOS device fleet in real-time, ensuring security compliance due to improved application push and removal performance. The Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) Certification Expiration E-mail feature eliminates potential iOS device disruption. Tangoe MDM sends an e-mail notification to IT administrators 30 days before the APNS certificate expires, and increases the notification frequency as the expiration date approaches.

In addition to MDM capabilities, Tangoe provides a comprehensive and integrated suite of communications lifecycle solutions that enable organizations to manage all of their communications assets and expenses.
