ORANGE, Conn., July 21, 2009 – Tangoe, Inc., the leading global provider of enterprise communications lifecycle management software and technology-enabled services, today announced that the company experienced unprecedented corporate and customer growth over the first half of 2009. This is highlighted by a revenue increase of 75 percent over the same period in 2008 on a revenue base that is already nearly two times larger than its nearest competitor, as recently confirmed by a leading industry analyst report. Tangoe also closed 100 new domestic and international contracts in the first half of 2009.To accommodate the company’s rapid client-side growth, Tangoe has also expanded its overall workforce by 89 individuals, an increase of 30 percent. Nearly all of these staff additions were in service and support areas for new and existing customers. With approximately $7.0 billion in client expenses under management and more than 1 million mobile devices under management, Tangoe remains solidly positioned as the largest provider within the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) market space.“Record-setting growth—both corporate and in the greater industry—is a tremendous accomplishment for any company, but in particular for Tangoe, where our clients have been forced to tighten their IT budgets in these challenging economic times,” said Al Subbloie, president and CEO of Tangoe. “Even in difficult economic times, our solutions have proven time and again to be a wise investment; enabling enterprises to significantly reduce their telecom costs, better manage their expanding communications infrastructure, and mobilize their workforce in an extremely cost-effective and productive way.”
In addition to record sales volume, the first half of 2009 also marked the expansion of Tangoe’s CommCare solution portfolio to include Mobile Device Management (MDM) technologies and services. MDM capabilities expanded the Company’s comprehensive fixed and mobile product suite to include a full range of smart device management solutions. Following the January 2009 acquisition of InterNoded, Tangoe became the only TEM vendor providing non-subcontracted, full lifecycle solutions for both fixed and mobile communications including smartphones. As more enterprises struggle to manage and control rising wireless service and hardware expenses, the ability to simplify mobile device deployments, reduce service and support costs, mitigate device data and security risks, and better manage mobile device infrastructure has become an important asset to the corporation’s communications management capabilities.
Addressing the increasing trend for global enterprises to better manage communications both domestically and abroad, Tangoe expanded its existing international fixed and mobile invoice processing capabilities. The Company added new international partners in Australia and Belgium, and welcomed a large international IT outsourcing organization to its extensive partner roster. In addition, Tangoe also increased the number of in-country, international invoice processing centers to 37 and the number of international regulatory organizations interfaced with to 44. In support of its international bill management offerings, Tangoe expanded the number of carrier billing formats supported to more than 1000, representing 195 countries. Tangoe also received Safe Harbor certification for compliance with the European Union’s data privacy laws, allowing the company to process invoices and employee information from any of the EU’s member states.
Tangoe’s 2009 successes have earned the Company recognition across the industry. Most recently Tangoe was recognized as an AlwaysOn East 100 winner and received the TMC Communications Solutions Product of the Year award for its CommCare suite of fixed and mobile communications lifecycle solutions.
