Mobility-As-A-Service (MaaS) – Removing the Burden, Adding Simplicity


As we introduced in last week’s blog post, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is becoming a hot topic of conversation in mobile circles because it challenges the traditional method by which enterprises manage their mobile infrastructure and expenses. This may sound abstract-even philosophical–but MaaS removes the burden of doing. What I mean by that is MaaS removes so many tasks and headaches from the shoulders of IT thanks to the simple notion of a monthly bundle. MaaS packages the carrier, the device, and the support services required into one package available at a predictable cost per device, per month.

Keep it Simple

It’s not unheard of for businesses to fail because they don’t leverage technology to keep up with the competition. If you’re in the midst of running your business, you don’t have time to keep up with the insane pace of mobile change. But not knowing can lead to disaster; it’s well documented that a single security breach can cost millions. A MaaS solution is as easy as bringing in a mobility expert, communicating your needs, and having them develop and implement a solution that works for you.

The MaaS provider will procure the devices, perform the setup, and deliver the devices to your users. Devices are ready to go, out of the box. This is especially useful if a company is considering a sweeping mobile device initiative, like providing tablets to hundreds—or even thousands—of employees. MaaS support should be end-to-end, continuing after the device is in hand, with dedicated, highly trained teams ready and able to troubleshoot software and hardware concerns brought by employees. Additionally, turnkey handling of lost, damaged, or stolen devices minimizes down time so employees have a device ready to go as soon as possible.

With MaaS, simplicity really does mean easy. Organizations can relieve themselves of the overwhelmingly complex task of managing mobility, hand it over to a professional, and know that their devices and services are going to be taken care of where and when they need them. It’s time to embrace the new philosophy – “Remove the burden of doing.”
