What is Culture? Season 1 – Episode #3: Transparency

What is Culture?

Along with two other team members, Stephanie Ahearn is responsible for the recruitment of all of U.S. Tangoe employees. In addition, she leads the entire global hiring process.

Nearly 50% of Stephanie’s work week is spent interviewing candidates for open positions across Tangoe, and so knowing this about her role is why I wanted her to come on this show.

Stephanie Ahearn, TangoeSince it’s Stephanie’s job to fill positions at Tangoe with candidates who are most likely to become successful in their roles, she’s very cognizant of company culture and has been throughout her career.

She believes that culture plays an important part in retention, since, when the culture that a company portrays is reflective of the company culture that actually exists, it helps attract the right people into the business.

Throughout our conversation, Stephanie handles some tough questions. She discusses the importance of being transparent with prospective employees and talks specifically about how she responds to candidates who happen to read a negative review on job sites like Glassdoor.

Here is my conversation with Stephanie Ahearn. Let’s all learn from her.
