Program offers clients secure, environmentally friendly mobile device refurbishing and socially responsible recyling

ORANGE, Conn., November 17, 2008 — Tangoe, Inc., a leading global provider of enterprise communications lifecycle management software and technology-enabled services, today announced the CommCare™ Mobile Recycling Program to offer clients a secure and environmentally friendly way of disposing and refurbishing obsolete or damaged mobile devices and accessories.

The company partnered with ReCellular, Inc., the leader in wireless device recycling, to develop the recycling program, which accepts all device models in addition to accessories such as batteries, chargers, and hands-free devices. The program reconditions appropriate devices for re-sale into secondary markets and assigns a fair value, based on condition and market value; the program then periodically mails a check back to the organizations that have recently recycled devices of value. Adhering to a strict no-landfill policy, the program disposes of “no value” devices and accessories in an environmentally safe manner.

The program has been designed for participating organizations to dispose of unwanted devices while also ensuring that corporate and other personal confidential data remains secure. All devices are wiped of personal data—such as passwords, emails, contact information, and downloaded files—via a multi-point check before recycling, repair, or disposal. The program also guarantees that no data recovered from devices will ever be stored, disclosed, or sold for any reason.

Using a pre-paid FedEx label, participating organizations can mail in their items to ReCellular’s Michigan processing and refurbishing plant.
