Where do my devices go?

Tangoe practices a strict no-landfill policy for all electronic devices. Every device is either sold for reuse or recycled responsibly. MobileRenew works exclusively with ISO Certified, E-Steward recyclers who are constantly audited and represent the highest standard in the industry.

What if I do not agree with price or condition of the devices as reported on my portal?

Tangoe provides both email and toll free phone support to answer any questions regarding the value of your order. If after discussing the situation with Tangoe, you do not agree with the price as quoted, Tangoe will return the devices with no further obligation.

When will I receive my check?

Tangoe consolidates all orders for the month and sends a check by the 20th day of the following month.

How does MobileRenew determine a price for devices?

Prices are determined by model, functionality and condition.  When an order is complete you will see the price, condition, and status of each device sent to MobileRenew.

What is the process for wiping devices?

Tangoe’s MobileRenew program maintains the highest standards of data security. For all devices that use hard drives, memory cards, or other means of storing data, Tangoe removes all data by utilizing data clearing procedures provided by the individual device manufacturer. All MobileRenew processes are ISO14001 certified with respect to any mobile devices that cannot be renewed.

It is highly recommended that the customer remove any and all sensitive or personally identifying data from devices before the devices are sent to Tangoe. Tangoe can provide data clearing instructions upon your request.

All devices are sorted by Tangoe for renewal either via reuse or recycling. All devices undergo Tangoe’s standardized data clearing procedure before entering any reuse channel. Throughout, devices are tracked by serial number and recorded in an internal database.

Mobile devices for reuse

  • All devices designated for reuse undergo Tangoe’s standardized data clearing and restoration to original factory settings procedures.
  • The data clearing procedure involves scrubbing each device, including but not limited to e-mail, messaging, contacts, notes, and calendar.
  • Data clearance is manually reviewed by Tangoe technicians before leaving the processing center for resale.

Mobile devices for recycling

  • Devices are sorted for recycling when the device and its parts have no secondary market value or the device cannot be cleared of all data.
  • Recycled devices are taken to a secure U.S.-based recycling facility to be shredded and responsibly recycled.
  • During the shredding process, all memory is physically destroyed
  • Upon verified completion of shredding, Tangoe provides a Certificate of Destruction.

Upon completion, Tangoe provides a detailed report that verifies data destruction for devices designated for reuse, as well as a Certificate of Destruction for each device recycled.

Any devices that Tangoe cannot clear of data will be physically destroyed.

How much does the MobileRenew program cost?

Nothing! MobileRenew is a no-cost service that actually delivers a check to you based upon the value of your used mobile devices. Tangoe even pays for shipping!

How do I enroll in MobileRenew?

Enrolling is easy. Just click here to use the automated enrollment process or send a request to sales@tangoe.com and a Tangoe sales executive will contact you.

How does the auto enrollment process work?

You will be asked to provide basic information about yourself and your company. After electronically accepting the terms and conditions, you will receive a login and password to your MobileRenew portal within one business day.  Upon logging into the portal you will be able to print shipping labels and track the status of your orders.
